KO Distribution is strengthening its feature film business following the box-office success of François.e, which has grossed more than $900,000 in French-speaking Canada, and the addition of new titles to its 2027 catalogue. The film, one of Canada's highest-grossing productions of 2026, will continue its international rollout with an official competition selection at the Liège International Comedy Film Festival in Belgium on November 12. The screening will mark its international premiere, with lead actor and producer Louis Morissette, screenwriters Gabrielle Boulianne-Tremblay and Jean-François Léger, executive producer Louis-Philippe Drolet, and director Jean-François Asselin (Plan B) expected to attend.
The company's growing focus on feature films represents an expansion beyond its established television distribution and sales activities. "Feature films have become an increasingly important part of our long-term vision," said Mia Desroches, VP, International Sales & Partnerships. “The audience response to François.e following its domestic debut confirmed the international potential of strong local stories, and we're continuing to invest in projects that can resonate both at home and abroad."
Among the new additions to its 2027 slate is Sortie de zone, directed by Rachel Graton and Louis Morissette. The title joins a catalogue that also includes the animated family feature Toopy & Binoo, produced by Echo Media; Lucy Grizzli Sophie, produced by Azimut and K24; and holiday box-office hit A Christmas Storm, produced by KOTV. The expanded slate covers comedy, drama and family entertainment, as KO Distribution looks to strengthen the international reach of Canadian productions and develop new opportunities for producers and rights holders across global markets.
