Monte-Carlo Television Festival Opens Submissions for 2026 Golden Nymph Awards
The Monte-Carlo Television Festival has officially opened submissions for the Golden Nymph Awards Competition, reaffirming its status as one of the most prestigious and long-standing distinctions in the international television industry. Now entering its 65th edition, the Festival will take place from June 12 to 16, 2026, continuing its legacy of celebrating excellence in global audiovisual storytelling.

For more than six decades, the Golden Nymph Awards have served as a key benchmark for quality and innovation, showcasing outstanding original programmes from around the world to audiences, media, and industry professionals. As the competition evolves alongside editorial, technological, and societal shifts, it maintains its role as a global reference point for television and digital content.

The 2026 competition features four official categories: Fiction, Major News & Current Affairs, Digital, and the Prince Rainier III Special Prize. In addition, several Special Prizes will be awarded by partner organisations, including the Monégasque Red Cross Prize and the AMADE Prize, selected from among all submitted entries.

This year marks a significant evolution for the Major News & Current Affairs category, with a renewed focus on in-depth investigative journalism. The category now prioritises field-based reporting grounded in direct observation, firsthand testimony, and strong editorial commitment, highlighting programmes that explore major societal, cultural, and geopolitical issues, as well as contemporary conflict zones.

The Digital category, introduced in 2025, continues to reflect the Festival’s forward-looking vision. Dedicated to content created exclusively for digital platforms and distributed solely on YouTube, the category recognises unscripted formats with no actors or pre-written dialogue. Two Golden Nymph Awards will be presented in this section: Best Original Digital Creation and Best Digital Documentary, reinforcing the Festival’s commitment to innovation and emerging creative talent.

Open to all formats produced for television and streaming platforms, the Golden Nymph Awards Competition is free to enter and accessible to professionals worldwide. Through this iconic showcase, the Monte-Carlo Television Festival strengthens its role as a cultural connector and industry tastemaker, honouring its heritage while actively supporting the ongoing evolution of the global audiovisual landscape.
