Sky Arte launched the second season of docu-series Io e Lei (5 episodes) on February 14 at 21:15. The series tells the lives of great female artists of the last century through the intimate and creative interpretation of five Italian actresses: Carolina Crescentini, Camilla Filippi, Cristiana Dell'Anna, Valeria Bilello and Sonia Bergamasco.
In each episode, an actress plays an artist. The first episode charts the life and work of the Milanese poet Alda Merini, performed by Lorenza Indovina, who also meets people who have known the artist. The narration is located in the dressing room, or in the make-up room, through archive materials and costumes: the actresses immerse themselves in the studio and rehearsals, meeting experts and visiting symbolic places, until they reach the interpretation of some fundamental passages of the artist's biography.
This series is an hybrid show as mixes the documentary and fiction genres, between backstage and staging, between research and realisation.
