BIG Media has secured a North American deal for its factual series Royal Gardens (6x60’), which will debut on BBC Select in the US and Canada in November 2026.

Hosted by historian Professor Suzannah Lipscomb, the series takes viewers inside some of the world’s most notable royal estates, exploring the history, personalities and botanical heritage behind their gardens.

Combining expert commentary with access to historic locations, Royal Gardens looks at how these landscapes developed alongside the royal families who inhabited them and the major historical events that shaped their evolution. The first season was co-produced with Austrian broadcaster ORF.

BBC Select, the BBC Studios-owned factual streaming service available in the US and Canada, offers programming across history, royalty, culture, travel, true crime and global affairs. The service is available through platforms including Prime Video, Apple TV, The Roku Channel and BritBox Premier.

The acquisition agreement was brokered by Emma Sparks, SVP Sales and Acquisitions for Europe at BIG Media, and Sondiyp Singh, Senior Acquisitions Manager at BritBox by BBC.

Founded in 2009, BIG Media develops and distributes unscripted programming across genres including history, true crime, military and intelligence, science and wildlife. Its catalogue currently includes more than 300 series and over 4,000 hours of programming, while its recently launched BIG FILMS division focuses on scripted movies for international distribution.
