TV2 Orders New Season of The Mole
Primitives has secured a deal with Hungarian broadcaster TV2 for a new season of its strategic reality competition format The Mole, which will air locally as A Tégla in the third quarter of 2027. The new season will be co-produced by TV2 and Eccholine, whose credits include Peking Express and Ninja Warrior. The commission marks the format’s return to Hungary and adds to its international footprint following its recent two-season revival on Netflix.

First launched in 1998, The Mole brings together 10 contestants who must work as a team to complete challenges and build a shared prize pot. However, one participant is secretly assigned to sabotage their efforts. The remaining players must identify the mole while navigating shifting alliances, deception and eliminations. With more than 50 adaptations worldwide, the format has established itself as a long-running strategic reality franchise, with multiple international versions and reboots.

Gábor Fischer, Deputy CEO of TV2 Media Group, said: "After many years of interest in the format, we are thrilled to have secured the Hungarian television rights to The Mole. We believe A Tégla has all the potential to become Hungary’s most talked-about reality show in 2027. This unique strategy reality format has captivated audiences around the world, and we are excited to bring this global hit to Hungarian viewers."
Emma Gosling, Sales & Acquisitions Manager at Primitives, added: “The Mole is more than the original social-deduction format, a ratings hit and cultural institution in Belgium and The Netherlands. Nearly three decades on, The Mole continues to attract audiences, creating those long-lost TV watercooler moments keeping viewers on the edge of their seats with masterful twists, deception and surprises.”
