Banijay Entertainment's Studio Lambert and Neal Street Productions have confirmed Nick Mohammed (Ted Lasso, Slow Horses, Show Pony) as the host of The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal, the upcoming West End stage production based on the hit reality format. Mohammed, a finalist in the first series of The Celebrity Traitors, will lead the theatrical experience at London's Gillian Lynne Theatre. Written by John Finnemore (Cabin Pressure) and directed by Robert Hastie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, Operation Mincemeat), The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal brings the television format to the stage in a production that unfolds over a single evening.
The story follows 11 fictional characters from different walks of life, including a farmer, a mortician, an intelligence officer, a young entrepreneur, a cleaner and an auctioneer, as they navigate a game of deception, shifting alliances and betrayal. The theatrical production introduces a concept that goes beyond the television format, offering five different versions of the story. Each features the same 11 characters and starting point, but different characters are selected as Traitors, leading to alternative outcomes. Characters murdered or banished early in one version can emerge victorious in another, with each performance presenting a complete, self-contained drama.
The creative team includes designer Ben Stones (Operation Mincemeat), lighting designer Mark Henderson (Standing at the Sky’s Edge), sound designer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite (Giant), choreographer Kate Prince (Sylvia), composer Martin Lowe (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and casting director Stuart Burt.
