MIP Cancun Names Five Finalists for Inaugural Scripted Pitch Competition
MIP Cancun has selected five finalists for its 2026 Scripted Pitch competition, an initiative designed to support original fiction projects with international potential and connect creators with prospective business partners. The competition attracted nearly 100 series and feature film projects in development from Latin America, Spain, Portugal and the US Hispanic market. The five finalists will pitch their projects to an international jury of audiovisual industry professionals and market attendees on Thursday, November 19 at Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico.
The selected projects are Autor Intelectual, from Argentina’s Lab Producciones; Enfermera de Noche, from US-based Arttess Productions; Oro Negro, from US-based Koolshiit; Sociedad de Padres, from Mexico’s United Content; and Universo M, from Colombia’s Panda Scout and LaDiana.

The jury comprises Monica Albuquerque, VP of original content for Brazil at The Walt Disney Company; Billy Rovzar, CEO of Lemon Studios; Ivan Stoessel, content development expert and creative producer; Gabriela Remirez, VP of original content for Mexico at Paramount+; and Iralyn Valera, director of future development at Telemundo Studios.
“The finalists reflect the creativity and diversity of the stories emerging from our markets. In an industry undergoing profound transformation, talent needs more than a great story: it needs to find the right partners to bring it to life. Through the Scripted Pitch, we aim to give visibility to new voices and connect these projects with industry professionals who can help advance their development and international reach,” said María Pérez-Bellière, director of MIP Cancun.

The Scripted Pitch is part of MIP Cancun’s broader strategy to strengthen its role as a meeting point for the development, financing and monetization of intellectual property across Latin America. The initiative aims to connect projects at early stages of development with partners who can support their production and international expansion. MIP Cancun brings together producers, buyers, streaming platforms, broadcasters, investors and other audiovisual industry professionals to foster partnerships and business opportunities across the international content market.
