Sphere Abacus Brings London’s 1999 Nail Bombings to the Screen
Sphere Abacus has acquired Surviving the London Nail Bombings, a 90-minute true crime documentary produced by Yeti Television for Prime Video in the UK and Ireland. The film examines three far-right terrorist attacks that targeted London communities over three consecutive weeks in April 1999. Told primarily through eyewitness accounts, the documentary draws on interviews, archival news reports, CCTV footage and images captured by a photographer who was nearby.

The feature explores the lasting consequences of the attacks, focusing on the people whose lives were affected and their determination to move forward. It will premiere later this year and is the latest acquisition under a multi-title true crime deal with Prime Video UK and Ireland, brokered by Will Stapley, global content director at Sphere Abacus.

“This feature documentary delivers intimate accounts from many of the innocent people whose lives were affected by the vicious attacks that shocked London more than 25 years ago. It candidly shows viewers that acts of terror don’t simply end when the bombs have detonated, but have continuing and life changing consequences for many years afterwards,” said Stapley.
Siân Price, executive producer at Yeti Television, added: “The courage and resilience of those who survived these terrible attacks is both inspiring and humbling. This documentary packs a real emotional punch but carries an uplifting message that ultimately there is more that unites than divides us.”
