Portugal Film Commission Holds 24 Meetings at Shooting Locations Marketplace
The Portugal Film Commission returned to Shooting Locations Marketplace, held on 14 and 15 October at Feria de Valladolid in Spain, where its team held 24 meetings with producers, location managers and location scouts from several countries, particularly the United States. The event uses a format of pre-scheduled, 20-minute speed meetings based on participants’ interests, allowing the Portugal Film Commission to promote the country as a destination for film and audiovisual productions to international industry professionals.
During the meetings, the organisation presented SCRI.PT, Portugal’s Audiovisual and Film Industry Funding Programme, highlighting production incentives, support for scouting missions, the diversity of the country's filming locations and the capabilities of its local industry, as well as the services available to international productions.

Beyond the individual meetings, the marketplace offered networking opportunities and roundtable discussions addressing key industry issues, including production incentives, European strategies for the sector and trends influencing the selection of filming destinations. The event also provided an opportunity for the Portugal Film Commission to connect with representatives of other film commissions belonging to the European Film Commissions Network (EUFCN), strengthening relationships within the European network.

Other Portuguese organisations attending included the Centro de Portugal Film Commission, Visit Alentejo, Historical Villages of Portugal and Turismo do Porto e Norte. Their participation reinforced Portugal’s presence at the event and showcased the diversity of its regions to international industry professionals.
The sixth edition of Shooting Locations Marketplace brought together professionals from 27 countries, including location scouts, production companies, film commissions, film offices and other industry representatives. The event was organised by Feria de Valladolid and the Spain Film Commission, in collaboration with Ayuntamiento de Valladolid and Junta de Castilla y León.
