With less than two months to go before NEM Zagreb 2026, an event that is becoming an increasingly important appointment for the television and media industry ahead of the Christmas break, organisers have unveiled the first keynote speaker and a selection of panel topics for this year's edition.
Taking place on 7–8 December at the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel, the event will welcome Timothy Oh, General Manager and Chief Marketing Officer at COL Group International, who will deliver a keynote addressing the evolving international media landscape.
His participation promises to bring a global perspective to an event that has established itself as a valuable meeting point for broadcasters, streaming platforms, producers, distributors and industry executives operating across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Alongside the keynote announcement, NEM Zagreb has revealed five panel discussions reflecting some of the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing the video business. Among the topics is Fear of Missing Out, which will explore why certain programmes attract audiences despite generating negative reactions, examining how controversy, social media conversations and FOMO can translate into engagement and commercial value.
Algorithms and Stories We Believe: Living in Your Feed will address the growing influence of recommendation algorithms on viewing habits, information consumption and shared cultural experiences.
Advertising will also be in the spotlight with The New TV Advertising Mix: Reach, Targeting and Results, a session examining the opportunities and challenges of Addressable TV and its potential for further development across the CEE region.
Meanwhile, Video Industry 2.0: Who's Becoming What? will explore the increasingly blurred boundaries between traditional media companies and digital creators, as the latter move into content production, IP ownership and format development.
Finally, The Year in Video: Looking Back, Moving Forward*will offer an overview of the major trends that have shaped the industry throughout 2026, while looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities of 2027.
With its combination of strategic discussions, industry insights and networking opportunities, NEM Zagreb continues to strengthen its position as a year-end gathering for the international television and video community.
Further speakers and programme details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
