BIG Media’s true-crime series Hashtag Homicide, co-produced with Wildbear Entertainment, has been renewed for a second season of 10 episodes by Radial Entertainment following the success of its debut season in the US and Canada. The series explores the dark intersection of social media and true crime, investigating cases in which online interactions, fake identities and digital footprints play a crucial role in uncovering criminal activity. Each episode follows investigators and online sleuths as they piece together evidence from posts, messages and social media activity to reveal the truth behind a murder.
“The cases explored in Hashtag Homicide can and do exist anywhere in the world. The social media platforms are, unfortunately, rife with predators and scammers who hide behind fake profiles and false promises. This series has become such a hit with viewers because this kind of fraud has touched nearly everyone, directly or indirectly,” said Danny Wilk, President, BIG Media. “We have been working with FilmRise - which is now Radial - for a number of years and are pleased to be moving into Season 2 with them aboard again.”
“The series examines how trust, obsession and manipulation play out online, with deadly consequences,” said Cristina Guggino, VP, Originals & Content Partnerships at Radial Entertainment. “BIG Media brings a sharp eye to these stories, and we’re pleased to continue our partnership for Season 2.”
Radial Entertainment previously acquired exclusive North American rights to the first season, which is currently available across several streaming platforms in the US and Canada. The second season is now in production and is scheduled to premiere in summer 2027.
