Mediaset Infinity is bringing two of its most popular Italian drama series back to audiences in a new vertical format, as the streaming platform continues to expand its microdrama offering.
Starting October 12, the first seasons of Rosy Abate and Il Peccato e la Vergogna will be available in specially adapted versions within Mediaset Infinity’s newly launched Microdrama section, offering viewers a fast-paced, mobile-friendly viewing experience.
Rosy Abate, starring Giulia Michelini as the iconic “Queen of Palermo”, returns in a condensed version consisting of 54 mini-episodes. The crime drama follows a former mafia boss living under a false identity whose new life is disrupted when she discovers that her son, long believed to be dead, is still alive. The vertical adaptation retains the action, suspense and dramatic twists that made the original series a major success.
Also joining the lineup is Il Peccato e la Vergogna, the period melodrama set in 1930s Rome and starring Gabriel Garko and Manuela Arcuri. The story centres on the obsessive relationship between the ruthless and troubled Nito Valdi and the determined Carmen Tabacchi. The series has been re-edited into 58 short vertical episodes, bringing its emotional conflicts and dramatic storytelling to a new digital format.
The launch reflects Mediaset Infinity’s strategy to capitalise on established scripted IP while exploring new storytelling formats designed for mobile consumption and shorter viewing sessions.
The two Italian titles join eight original international productions already available in the Microdrama section. The platform plans to add a new international title every week, progressively expanding its catalogue of short-form vertical fiction.
