Blink49 Studios has promoted Tara Long to the newly created position of President of Global Unscripted Television & Studio Ventures, consolidating leadership across several of the company’s fastest-growing businesses as it continues to expand its next-generation independent studio model. The new executive role brings together Blink49’s Brand Studio, Creator Studios, Vertical Content Division, and Global Unscripted Television, reflecting the company’s strategy of unifying its high-growth divisions under a single leadership structure to accelerate collaboration, content development, financing and IP commercialization.
Long will continue overseeing the Global Unscripted Television division while assuming responsibility for the company’s expanding business ventures. Since joining Blink49 in January 2024, she has played a central role in developing the studio’s global formats business, launching new growth initiatives and strengthening its production services capabilities through projects including Beast Games for Prime Video, alongside productions for FOX, Netflix and Warner Bros.
Her current slate also includes premium unscripted titles such as Power Play (CBC), Balls Deep (Crave), The Golden Life (E!), The CEO Club (Prime Video), Queen of the Castle (CTV Life), Romcon: Who The F**k is Jason Porter? (Prime Video), Rivals: The 4 Nations Face-Off (CBC), Blue Collar (Crave), Come Dine With Me (Rogers), The Braxtons and Toya & Reginae (We TV).
Long also led the acquisition of Lighthearted Entertainment, a move that further strengthened Blink49’s position in the global formats business while expanding its production footprint.
“Tara has been instrumental in building the businesses that are shaping Blink49’s next phase of growth,” said John Morayniss, CEO of Blink49 Studios. “I’ve had the privilege of working with Tara for many years, and what has always stood out is her ability to see where the industry is heading and identify new opportunities. This expanded role recognizes the impact Tara has had across Blink49, and we’re excited to see her continue building on that momentum as she leads these important areas of the business.”
The appointment comes as Blink49 continues investing in new entertainment models. Its Brand Studio is currently developing brand-funded projects, including Murder at the Mansion, created with Uber Eats and designed as a premium vertical micro-drama for mobile audiences. Meanwhile, Blink49 Creator Studios is expanding creator-led IP initiatives, including the recently announced untitled New York Knicks Finals documentary, financed alongside Scott Budnick’s 1Community and produced by Travon Free’s The Unreasonable in partnership with Outerboro Films.
