BBC Confirms Third and Final Season of Daddy Issues as Fremantle Continues Global Rollout
The BBC has commissioned a third and final season of the hit comedy Daddy Issues, with Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey returning to lead the cast. Produced by Fudge Park Productions, the six-part series will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, while Fremantle continues to handle international distribution.
Created and written by Danielle Ward, Daddy Issues has become one of BBC Three's standout comedy successes, launching as the channel's biggest comedy debut since the beginning of 2022, while its second season ranked as BBC Three's top scripted title of 2025.

Set once again in Stockport, Greater Manchester, the new season picks up 18 months after the events of season two. Gemma is adjusting to life as a working mother, her daughter has started nursery, and Malcolm appears to have embraced a more settled routine. However, a new romantic complication quickly throws Gemma back into chaos, forcing the father-daughter duo into another round of heartfelt and comedic misadventures.
Aimee Lou Wood said: “I'm so happy to be back with David and the brilliant Daddy Issues cast for one final time. Gemma and Malcolm are one of the funniest and sweetest comedy double acts on TV, and I've loved being a part of it."
David Morrissey added: “I love doing Daddy Issues so much, such a great cast and crew! So I’m delighted to be coming back to have more adventures with Gemma, Malcolm and the gang!”

Writer Danielle Ward commented: "I'm thrilled we're getting to make a third and final series of Daddy Issues. The Moscrip’s have a special part in my heart and I'll be forever grateful to Aimee and David for bringing them to life in such a brilliantly funny way."
Rebecca Dundon, SVP, Scripted Content, Global Drama & Fremantle International, highlighted the show's international appeal, saying: “Few comedies earn a third season, and reaching this milestone is a testament to the exceptional team behind Daddy Issues... With the new season taking the total episode count to 18, our partners around the world have an exciting opportunity to build on the series’ success while introducing new audiences to Gemma and Malcolm’s heartfelt and hilarious story."
