Banijay Entertainment's successful reality format Temptation Island will receive a Danish adaptation, produced by Mastiff Denmark (part of Banijay Nordic) for Viaplay. This becomes the 28th local version of the global superbrand, which originally launched in the US in 2001 and was acquired in 2012.

Our adaptation will place Danish couples front and centre within a big, bold production, that fully embraces the format’s signature scale and distinctive storytelling.”

Temptation Island follows couples who take part in an experience designed to test their commitment. They are separated into two villas, where they live alongside a group of singles to see whether their relationship can withstand temptation and emotional challenges. The outcome determines whether they leave together, break up and return alone, or form new relationships with the singles.

Banijay Entertainment’s Temptation Island continues to deliver strong results internationally. The Spanish version generated the viral Montoya Por Favor moment last year and is currently Telecinco’s number one show of the day. In the US, the second season of the Netflix version entered the Global Top 10 English-language series and has already been renewed for a third season. In Belgium and the Netherlands, the format has ranked number one on Streamz since launch and has also held the top position on Amazon Prime Video Netherlands since its debut.
