ARTE Distribution Launches International Sales for Terminator Documentary Featuring Exclusive James Cameron Interview
ARTE Distribution has launched international sales for Terminator: Of Machines and Men… and One Woman, a new documentary exploring the legacy and cultural impact of the iconic sci-fi franchise created by James Cameron. Directed by Antoine Coursat and co-produced by Ma Drogue à Moi and ARTE France, the 52-minute documentary revisits the six-film saga from the release of the original Terminator in 1984 through to the franchise’s latest installment, examining its influence on action cinema, science fiction and contemporary debates surrounding artificial intelligence.

The documentary positions the Terminator universe not only as one of Hollywood’s defining franchises, but also as a story centered on Sarah Connor, portrayed as one of popular culture’s most progressive female protagonists. “We are proud to champion this title internationally. The Terminator saga sits at the intersection of cinema history, feminist culture and the AI debate — three conversations more alive today than ever!” said Joséphine Létang, Head of Sales at ARTE Distribution.
One of the film’s main highlights is an exclusive interview with filmmaker James Cameron, filmed at the Lightstorm Entertainment Museum in Los Angeles, surrounded by life-size T-800 statues. The documentary also includes contributions from producer Gale Anne Hurd, producer Mike Medavoy and actors Robert Patrick and Kristanna Loken, alongside archival footage and commentary from franchise specialists.

According to ARTE Distribution, the release comes at a timely moment, as 2026 marks both the 42nd anniversary of the original Terminator and the 35th anniversary of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, while public discussion around artificial intelligence continues to intensify globally.
