Rubicon TV and New Metric Media are teaming up for The Posse, a new international comedy series commissioned by Canada’s CBC and Norway’s NRK. Set to premiere in 2027, the eight-part, half-hour series comes from Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen, the creative duo behind Netflix’s Viking comedy hit Norsemen.

Set in the 1800s, The Posse is an absurdist, character-driven comedy that follows a wealthy, clueless Norwegian heir who travels to the American Wild West in search of inspiration for his novel. Accompanied by a reluctant group of companions, his ill-conceived literary adventure soon descends into mayhem when the group accidentally lands in serious trouble and is forced to flee the law.

With the help of a charismatic but unreliable Canadian guide, the unlikely posse must battle its way across the wilderness toward Vancouver — and what they hope will be a route back home to safety.
