Launching to mark the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry Potter: The Official Film Podcast debuted on May 19, offering fans a nostalgic and insightful journey through all eight films of the iconic franchise. Produced by HBO Max in partnership with Pod People, the new podcast revisits the wizarding world through a mix of film analysis, behind-the-scenes stories and humorous reflections on the saga that shaped a generation of moviegoers.
Hosted by acclaimed film critic and broadcaster Rhianna Dhillon, the series combines detailed recaps with discussions exploring the emotional impact, cinematic craftsmanship and enduring cultural relevance of the Harry Potter films. Each episode examines key scenes, performances and creative decisions while reflecting on why the franchise continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.
A recurring “Magic Makers” segment features special guests from behind the scenes of the films, sharing exclusive insights into the making of the wizarding world and revealing the technical and creative work that brought the beloved stories to life on screen.
A longtime Harry Potter fan and self-described Slytherin, Dhillon brings both professional expertise and personal passion to the podcast. Known for her work with platforms including BBC Radio 1, BAFTA and the award-winning PodPod, she will be joined throughout the series by a rotating line-up of co-hosts from across the entertainment industry, each discussing their own connection to the films and favourite moments from the franchise.
The podcast is launched with a special two-episode premiere, followed by weekly releases. Each film in the saga is explored across two approximately 60-minute episodes.
