Rai 1 is set to launch a new four-part primetime drama, Roberta Valente – Notaio a Sorrento, debuting on Sunday, April 12. Produced by Rodeo Drive in collaboration with Rai Fiction. At the center of the narrative is Roberta Valente, a young notary whose life has been shaped by a traumatic event in her youth. Marked by a deep need for control, she meticulously plans every aspect of her existence in an effort to shield herself from uncertainty. Brilliant and determined, she has excelled at every stage of her academic and professional journey, topping the highly competitive notary exam and securing a post in Sorrento—her hometown and the place where her long-time boyfriend Stefano awaits, ready to take the next step in their relationship.

However, Roberta’s return to Sorrento—portrayed through sun-drenched landscapes, fragrant lemon groves and postcard-perfect views—quickly becomes more than a professional homecoming. The encounter with a new social circle begins to challenge her carefully constructed world. Among the key figures are Leda, a vibrant and intuitive bar waitress, and Vito, her former boyfriend, a fisherman whose rough manners conceal a deeper emotional complexity.
Across its four episodes, the series introduces a succession of unusual and compelling notarial cases, effectively subverting the stereotype of the profession as static or predictable. Each case places Roberta in ethically and emotionally challenging situations, forcing her to rely not only on her technical expertise but also on a growing capacity for empathy and adaptability.
The cast features a lineup of emerging Italian talent, including Maria Vera Ratti in the lead role, alongside Alessio Lapice, Flavia Gatti and Erasmo Genzini. Direction is handled by Vincenzo Pirozzi, with the production aiming to position the show within Rai 1’s tradition of accessible yet emotionally layered drama.
