Production has officially begun in Naples on "Super Santos", the debut feature film from director Ciro Visco ("Gomorrah" and "Doc: Nelle tue mani") and joint production between Palomar (a Mediawan company) and PiperFilm.
The project is a free adaptation of the novel "Cuore puro" by acclaimed author Roberto Saviano and the story follows four friends whose destinies are intertwined by a single passion, set against the backdrop of Naples. The cast features established actors Francesco Di Leva, Massimiliano Rossi, and Antonia Truppo, alongside newcomers Thomas D’Angelo, Ciro Esposito, Ciro Dommarco, and Danilo D’Ambrosio.
Produced by Carlo Degli Esposti, Nicola Serra, and Marco Grifoni for Palomar, and Massimiliano Orfei, Luisa Borella, and Davide Novelli for PiperFilm, the project receives support from the Ministry of Culture’s Directorate-General for Cinema and Audiovisual.
The six-week shoot features a technical team including director of photography Cristiano Di Nicola, production designer Ludovica Ferrario, and costume designer Mariano Tufano. "Super Santos" will be distributed theatrically in Italy by PiperFilm, while PiperPlay will manage international distribution.
