All3Media International has announced a major milestone for the global format "The Traitors". Indonesia has become the 40th territory to join the phenomenon. The local adaptation will be produced by Falcon for a 2026 release on its OTT platform, featuring a 10-episode celebrity version.
The format's expansion across Europe continues with new versions coming to Slovakia, Estonia, and Serbia, where PRVA TV has commissioned an adaptation produced by Rainmaker. Additionally, a celebrity version is set to launch on Television Malta, produced by Greatt. These deals follow recent commissions in Turkey, Brazil, Mexico, and South Korea, as well as a rapid second-season renewal for the Indian version on Prime Video.
Beyond the screen, the brand is expanding into live experiences, a stage play for 2027, and various gaming products. Ratings remain record-breaking: the "Celebrity Traitors" finale in the UK drew 15 million viewers to the BBC, while in the Czech Republic, "Zrádci" fueled a massive increase in video views for the Prima+ platform. In the US, the fourth season on Peacock achieved the series' best opening to date, amassing 3.2 billion minutes viewed in less than a month.
Regarding this achievement, Louise Pedersen, CEO at All3Media International, commented: “'The Traitors' can only be described as a phenomenon. The global scale of the show and the passion of fans around the world is a testament to the originality and adaptability of the format and the skill of all of our local production partners. Reaching 40 territories at the start of 2026 is a significant milestone and we’re delighted that The Traitors mix of intrigue, deception and drama will be delighting even more viewers around the world.”
Michel Nillesen, Managing Director at IDTV, added: “Forty territories, and the game is only just beginning. This milestone underlines the global power of the format. 'The Traitors' proves that trust and betrayal resonate everywhere. We’re incredibly proud of this achievement and excited to continue expanding the brand internationally.”
The format, originally titled "De Verraders", was developed by IDTV in collaboration with the RTL Creative Unit and premiered in the Netherlands in 2021. It has since become a multi-award-winning property, recently winning five Emmy categories in 2025, including Outstanding Reality Competition.
