Canale 5 is
bringing back many of its established titles for the upcoming television
season. Grande Fratello Vip will return in September with the
same team as the previous edition, alongside Zelig, Who Wants to Be a
Millionaire? – The Tournament, the summer edition of TIM
Battiti Live and its spring and winter versions, Scherzi a
Parte and L’Isola dei Famosi.
The latter will return with a revamped format and Selvaggia Lucarelli as host.
“Selvaggia Lucarelli will be both a commentator on Grande Fratello Vip and the
host of L’Isola dei Famosi,” commented Pier Silvio Berlusconi. “She is a
professional we really appreciate.” According to Berlusconi, the show “could
air between the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027, or in early 2027.”
Several major event shows have also been confirmed for the new season,
including La Ruota dei Campioni, Taratatà and This Is
Me, featuring Maria De Filippi and Silvia Toffanin. The schedule will
also include Dive, celebrating some of Italy’s greatest female
performers, Torno a Natale with Giorgio Panariello and a new
show created by comedy duo Pio e Amedeo.
Maria De Filippi’s entire primetime portfolio has also been
renewed, including Tu sì que vales, Amici, C’è Posta per Te and Temptation
Island.
The season will also feature several new projects, including a new game show
hosted by Michelle Hunziker, The 1% Club, and a celebrity
entertainment show titled El Desafío. The format already airs
successfully in Spain and sees celebrities facing a series of demanding
physical and mental challenges.
Canale 5 Access Primetime and Early Evening: Passaparola and OK! Il Prezzo è
Giusto
Canale 5 will retain the most successful access-primetime programme of the
season, La Ruota della Fortuna.
The channel’s early-evening schedule will be expanded with several game shows,
including The Wall, Avanti un altro! and Caduta Libera, as well as the return
of two classic Mediaset brands: Passaparola and OK! Il Prezzo è Giusto.
Canale 5 Drama Slate
Mediaset also presented a wide range of new and returning Canale 5 drama
productions. The upcoming season will sees: Viola Come il Mare 3,
with Francesca Chillemi returning as the lead in the Lux Vide-produced series.
The new chapter will consist of six episodes and will also introduce Rodrigo
Guirao Díaz in a new role.Canale 5 is also investing in the return of A
Testa Alta – Il Coraggio di una Donna (season 2). Following
the success of its first season, the drama will be back with three new
episodes, once again led by Sabrina Ferilli.
The second season of Una Nuova
Vita has also been confirmed. Starring Anna Valle, the series will
continue to follow its protagonist as she faces new personal and family
challenges.
Among the titles audiences have been
waiting for the longest are two productions that were previously announced but
never made it to primetime.The first is Alex Bravo – Poliziotto a Modo
Suo, starring Marco Bocci. Across six episodes, the series will follow an
unconventional police officer as he navigates investigations, unexpected events
and personal challenges.Also finally arriving is Erica, a
three-part drama starring Vanessa Incontrada. The project marks another major
Mediaset role for the actress, who has become one of the most popular faces of
Italian television drama.
Vanessa Incontrada will lead a second
project, Un Mondo Bellissimo, a four-part series that will
further expand Canale 5’s fiction slate.Can Yaman will also return to the
spotlight on Mediaset. Following his departure from Viola Come il Mare,
the actor will take on a very different role in Il Labirinto delle
Farfalle, playing a secret agent in a four-episode story.Another brand-new
title is Madre Terra, a six-part drama starring Cristiano
Caccamo. The series will focus on family relationships, emotional bonds and the
conflicts that can emerge within a household, continuing Canale 5’s tradition
of character-driven and emotionally charged storytelling.
