Epic Storyworlds, a subsidiary of Epic Story Media, has joined forces with Original Content Lab to develop "Globe Bros", a fresh comedic adventure series for children. The production has already secured greenlights from major broadcasters including TVOkids, Knowledge Network, Radio-Canada, and TFO, with additional support from the Shaw Rocket Fund.
The 20 x 11-minute series, designed for the six-to-nine demographic, was co-created by Original Content Lab CEO Sean Connolly and renowned travel journalist Heather Greenwood Davis. The narrative is inspired by Greenwood Davis’s real-life experiences traveling across 29 countries with her family, an adventure that previously earned them the title of Travelers of the Year by National Geographic Traveler.
Regarding the project, Sean Connolly stated: “Heather and her family are truly inspiring and we hope this series encourages kids everywhere to be curious about exploring the world around them. Even if it’s just the next town, or province!”.
Heather Greenwood Davis added: “Travel has been such a powerful force for good in my family’s life. I’m excited to be able to share some of the lessons we’ve learned with other kids and their families”.
From a corporate perspective, Steve Couture, CEO of Epic Storyworlds, noted: “’Globe Bros’ reflects Epic Storyworlds’ vision for storytelling: it's rooted in real human experience, filled with curiosity and humour, and designed to resonate with global audiences”.
Finally, Kirsten Hurd, Commissioning Editor of TVOkids, commented: “A proudly Canadian series, ‘Globe’ Bros brings the whole world to kids right at home. Through exploration of new places and cultures, the series inspires curiosity and global awareness, blending learning with fun, humour, and heart”.
Currently in the pre-production phase, the series is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2027. The series will be produced in Québec with Epic’s Loomi Animation and distributed globally by Epic Story Media.
