BBC Studios Expands Go Jetters Franchise With Singapore-Set Spin-Off Backed By IMDA
BBC Studios has unveiled “Go Jetters Go!”, the first-ever spin-off of its successful children’s franchise, developed with support from the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA). Set in Singapore, the new adventure series expands the “Go Jetters” universe while combining local creative talent with international appeal.

The project originated from IMDA’s initiative to support the meaningful localisation of established international intellectual properties. “Go Jetters”, a wholly owned BBC IP with a strong global track record, was selected for its adaptability and worldwide recognition. Initially conceived as short-form content, the concept evolved into a full series following development and commissioning by BBC Children’s and Education for CBeebies in the UK, with support from IMDA and BBC Studios.

Cecilia Persson, Managing Director, BBC Studios Kids & Family, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with IMDA on ‘Go Jetters Go!’ This partnership allows us to bring a fresh perspective to a much-loved brand, while celebrating Singapore’s culture and global outlook. Kym’s journey is one of discovery, teamwork and pride, and we can’t wait to share it with audiences around the world.”

“Go Jetters Go!” introduces Kym, a top Singaporean cadet guided by original Go Jetters Xuli, Kyan, Foz and Lars as she embarks on a global mission to locate the Go Jetters Cup and earn her place as an official Go Jetter. Operating from Mission HQ in Singapore, Kym receives Groovy Clues from Ubercorn that lead her to hidden G.O Stars around the world. Her journey takes her across continents in search of natural wonders, iconic landmarks and cultural treasures, all while facing the schemes of Grandmaster Glitch and his Grimbots.

The series stars Singaporean actress and voice talent Lim Shi-An as Kym, marking her first role in animation. Known for dramatic live-action performances in projects including Alienated, Come Closer and Tan Siyou’s Amoeba, Shi-An brings a new dimension to the franchise as she voices the ambitious cadet.

With guidance from Singaporean media consultant Leslie Lee, the production incorporates authentic local elements while maintaining broad global resonance. Singaporean writers Lisa Teh and Debra Chong joined the UK-based writing team to help craft culturally rich storylines.

Ms Yvonne Tang, Assistant Chief Executive, Media Industry Group, IMDA, said: “We’re excited to partner with BBC Studios to expand the well-loved ‘Go Jetters’ universe with ‘Go Jetters Go!’. As the first spin-off of a successful children’s series to be set in Singapore, the show puts our local culture and creativity on an international stage and brings Singapore stories to children and families around the world. It also celebrates our homegrown talent, who are contributing their distinctive voices and perspectives, and helps strengthen the creative capability of our media industry in Singapore.”

Kate Morton, Senior Head of Commissioning at BBC Children’s and Education for CBeebies, said: “This is an international collaboration with universal impact for audiences across the globe. The return of this much-loved brand is brilliant news for CBeebies viewers and demonstrates the power of animation to unite to overcome this challenging time for children’s television worldwide.”

“Go Jetters Go!” is slated to premiere in the UK and Singapore in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027. BBC Studios Kids & Family will handle global distribution, with CBeebies attached as commissioning partner.
