The American Film Market® has confirmed that its 2026 edition will once again take place in Los Angeles, from November 10–15, 2026, at the Fairmont Century Plaza. After decades in Santa Monica, AFM entered a transitional phase in the early 2020s, accelerated by the pandemic, which led first to virtual editions and then to a temporary relocation to Las Vegas, where the Market was held for multiple years. The decision to bring AFM back to Los Angeles in 2025 represented a significant strategic move — one that has now been confirmed and extended with the announcement of the 2026 edition.

According to the IFTA Board of Directors, the industry’s response to AFM’s Los Angeles homecoming in 2025 clearly demonstrated that the Fairmont Century Plaza, combined with screenings at the AMC Century City 15, offers the most effective setting to support the full scope of the Market’s business activity. Beyond the appeal of the venue itself, the location provides immediate access to Los Angeles’ wider production, financing, distribution and agency ecosystem.
The return to Los Angeles is therefore not merely a question of geography, but a reaffirmation of AFM’s identity as a market deeply connected to the creative and commercial heart of the global film and television industry. Century City, in particular, allows participants to operate within close proximity to studios, sales companies, financiers and talent representatives, facilitating dealmaking and high-level networking.
