Secuoya Studios has announced the appointment of film producer Jaime Gona to its film division, a move aimed at strengthening the studio’s production capacity and accelerating the development of new feature film projects.
With an established track record in both national and international markets, Gona has built his career producing critically acclaimed titles with strong festival presence and commercial reach. His credits include “Los comensales”, winner of the Audience Award in the ZonaZine section at the Málaga Film Festival; Víctor García León’s “Selfie”, which received the Critics’ Award at the Málaga Film Festival and enjoyed a wide international festival run; and “Los europeos”, a France–Spain co-production based on Rafael Azcona’s novel, which garnered multiple nominations at the Goya and Feroz Awards, including Best Comedy Film.
Gona’s slate also includes a number of upcoming titles, among them “Día de caza”, directed by Pedro Aguilera and starring Carmen Machi, Rossy de Palma, Blanca Portillo and Zoé Arnao; “El profesor”, the second feature from Daniel Castro, produced by Atresmedia Cine, Gonita and 4 Cats Pictures and starring Javier Gutiérrez; the documentary “Carlos Saura: ese niño de la fotografía”, directed by Anna Saura; and “Ultravioleta”, written and directed by Mamen Díaz (“Violeta no coge el ascensor”).
In his new role at Secuoya Studios, Jaime Gona will focus on originating and developing new film projects, contributing to the continued expansion and diversification of the studio’s film strategy.
