The film “Joachim and the Apocalypse”, directed by Jordan River and produced and distributed by Delta Star Pictures has premiered on Prime Video in the UK and USA, after its theatrical release in Italy in December 2024 and in Los Angeles in November 2025.
The film draws inspiration from the apocalypse described by Joachim of Fiore, a man distant from 'religions' yet in search of God. A monk who lived in the 12th century and who received visions of certain prophecies, later transcribed onto parchment pages.
The film thus leads the audience to discover the Third Era of history and invites us to change our destiny for the better. It has been described as a "messenger film", as it prompts viewers to reflect on existence, death, and life beyond life. "It is precisely at the moment when ephemeral life seems to take over that one must find the strength to face the great themes", says director Jordan River.
The film, which combines breathtaking imagery, was shot in ultra-high 12K resolution and projected in 4K format. It also incorporates elements of Chromotherapy and Theta Wave frequencies, used to activate deeper layers of consciousness and to promote introspection and emotional resonance in the viewer.
