The MIA | International Audiovisual Market has announced its extensive program for the 11th edition, taking place in Rome from October 6-10, 2025. Organized by ANICA (National Association of Cinematographic, Audiovisual and Digital Industries) and APA (Association of Audiovisual Producers), the event will feature over 80 events including panels, conferences, workshops, and screenings.
The 2025 edition presents 44 titles across five showcases spanning Animation, Documentary & Factual, Drama, and Film divisions, plus 62 co-production market projects for a total of over 100 projects. The event will host leading international audiovisual professionals and official delegations from Latin American countries including Cuba, as well as from Sweden and Canada.
Animation Division
Curated by Carla Vulpiani and Federica Pazzano, the Animation section addresses urgent industry themes including licensing potential, digital innovation, AI integration, and data-driven storytelling. A landmark panel will feature heads of major European public broadcasters (BBC's Patricia Hidalgo, France Télévisions' Pierre Siracusa, RAI's Roberto Genovesi, RTVE's Yago Fandiño, and HR/ARD's Patricia Vasapollo) discussing co-production strategies for children's content.
The AnyShow showcase presents 11 high-quality animated projects, including four Italian productions ranging from family entertainment to adult-targeted content.
Doc & Factual Division
Led by Marco Spagnoli and Ben Pace, this division features keynote speaker Thom Zimny, the Emmy and Grammy-winning director known for his collaborations with Bruce Springsteen. The "Italians Doc It Better" showcase presents 10 world premieres exploring Italian identity and social change, while the International Factual Forum showcases 10 bold international formats.
Drama Division
Paolo Ciccarelli's Drama division highlights "The Nordic Blueprint" panel, featuring drama heads from NRK, YLE, SVT, and DR discussing the successful Nordic television model. The GREENLit showcase notably features four series that originated from previous MIA pitching forums, demonstrating the market's development pipeline success.
Film Division
Curated by Francesca Palleschi and Alexia De Vito, the Film section includes the "C EU Soon" showcase presenting seven European films in post-production seeking international distribution. The division also hosts the new Book Adaptation Forum (BAF), connecting publishers and audiovisual producers.

Awards and Recognition
MIA 2025 will present the MIA Development Awards across four categories, plus the new Sony Pictures Television Award for best Drama project. Additional prizes include the WIFTMI Award promoting gender equality and the Paramount New Stories Award for factual entertainment.
European Focus
The market maintains its role as a strategic European hub, hosting closed-door meetings including the EBU Fiction Experts Plenary Meeting and the European Producers Club Heads of Drama gathering. A new Children's Pubcasters Meeting brings together major European public broadcasters focused on youth content.
