French distributor Folivari International has sold the animated series Samuel to Netflix for multiple territories (USA, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain), the series continues to expand its global reach with recent sales to TéléQuébec (Canada), NTV (Chile) and RTS (Switzerland). The series will also be showcased at the MyMetaStories festival, on Minecraft, from October 10 to 12.
Produced by Paris-based studio Les Valseurs and created by filmmaker, author and performer Émilie Tronche, Samuel follows the inner world of a 10-year-old boy who records his daily struggles and secrets in his diary.
Deceptively simple in black and white, the short-format series has already been a major success on ARTE in France and Germany, as well as on Spain’s national broadcaster RTVE and regional channel TV3.
Available in both horizontal format for linear broadcast and vertical format for social media, Samuel offers partners a versatile distribution model that bridges traditional TV audiences and digital-native viewers.
Melissa Vega, Head of Acquisitions and International Sales at Folivari International, will be highlighting Samuel at upcoming markets to further strengthen its global rollout and secure additional partners across the world.
