Confirmed as Content Warsaw gets underway, the Polish version – which has a working title of Sędzia – is thought to now make Your Honor the most widely adapted scripted format of the decade.
Previous adaptations in the US, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, Russia, and India have been followed by Chinese-language and Ukrainian versions announced earlier this year.
Your Honor (S1 12x35’; S2 10x40’), originally titled Kvodo, is a compelling legal thriller telling the story of a respected senior judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run accident, leading to difficult choices, moral dilemmas, and terrible consequences as he attempts to keep the crime a secret.
ATM Grupa has delivered some of Poland's most talked-about TV and film projects of recent years, including The Pack, Hold Tight, Just One Look, Absolute Beginners, Pitbull, Skołowani, and Travel Essentials. It has excellent relationships with a wide variety of domestic broadcasters and platforms and will announce a partner for Sędzia in due course.
“ ‘Are there limits to a parent’s love for a child who has lost their way?’ This is the central question behind this universal story – and likely the reason for its success across so many cultures and audiences. We believe Polish viewers will also connect deeply with the emotions this series delivers,” says Dariusz Gąsiorowski, the producer at ATM Grupa overseeing the adaptation.
Sharon Levi, managing director of yes Studios, adds: “We continue to be honoured not only by the wide interest that this brilliant format attracts but also by the calibre of the producers and broadcasters looking to deliver this story to their local audiences. ATM Grupa is a wonderful collaborator for Your Honor and we are proud to have the team join a growing roster of talented creatives around the world making this story their own.”
Your Honor was created by Ron Ninio and Shlomo Mashiach and produced by yes TV and Koda Communications. yes Studios represents the original drama and the format worldwide. The series has been an Official Selection at nearly 20 international festivals, including SerienCamp in Germany and the Chicago International TV Festival and was the Grand Prix Winner at Series Mania in 2017.
