On 5 February next year, Celebrity Bear Hunt will premiere on Netflix, hosted by British television presenter, author and model Holly Willoughby, with a total of eight episodes.
Netflix has provided a synopsis for the reality series: “Holly Willoughby hosts this action-packed competition show that sees a group of unlikely British celebrities dropped into the Costa Rican jungle as prey for one of the world’s most fearsome predators – Bear Grylls. […] As Bear puts them through their paces, those who fail to impress will face the dreaded ‘Bear Hunt’ – a brutal game of cat and mouse where they’ll be hunted down by Bear himself and, if captured, eliminated from the show.”
However, an unofficial trailer also suggests that the format will have an element of interactivity, something that Bear Grylls has already experimented with in his classic show You Vs Wild, also on Netflix: viewers will be able to choose what they want Bear to do, given three options (such as climbing, swimming across a stretch of water or in a canoe -> see frames).
We'll see if this is really the case, and how the interaction will take place in practice, since the programme is pre-recorded.
