WBITVP at the Warner Bros. Discovery stand in Cannes presents The Golden Bachelor plus many scripted titles
Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) released its slate of non-scripted and scripted formats heading into MIPCOM 2023. Prime time entertainment and factual entertainment formats include The Bachelor Franchise’s latest hit spin-off The Golden Bachelor, alongside Loteria Loca, The Nevermets, Toy Hospital and Five Star Chef.
Drama and comedy scripted formats available to market include one of Belgium’s most watched series in 2022, are: Chantal, alongside 4 Blocks, Two Sides of the Abyss and I Don’t Like Driving. As usual, WBITVP will be located at the Warner Bros. Discovery stand C17 at MIPCOM.

The Golden Bachelor
(ABC, US), produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon, is the latest iteration of reality dating behemoth The Bachelor franchise, which gives one hopeless romantic a second chance at love in the search for a partner with whom to share the sunset years of life. The hugely anticipated spin-off delivered the biggest multiplatform audience in The Bachelor franchise in nearly 3 years and ranks as ABC’s number 1 series premiere ever on Hulu.

Also brand-new from the US and produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon and Apploff Entertainment, Lotería Loca (CBS, US) is a wildly entertaining, action-packed entertainment series full of unexpected surprises. The high-octane gameshow is based on the Latin game of chance similar to bingo, popularly known as ‘Lotería’.

Factual Entertainment launches coming to MIPCOM include The Nevermets (Channel 4, UK) from Wall to Wall, which follows daters who have all fallen madly in love online as they each make the potentially life changing decision to cross international waters to meet for the very first time and Toy Hospital W/T (Channel 5, UK) from Ricochet, which celebrates the history and nostalgia of the world of toys, as the skilled experts at the Toy Hospital bring back broken and damaged toys to their original glory. Whilst high-stakes cookery competition Five Star Chef (Channel 4, UK), produced by Twenty Twenty, sees talented up and coming chefs battle it out to prove they have the culinary skills and business brain to win a once in a lifetime prize – a residency in an exclusive Five Star hotel.

Amongst the Scripted Format offerings include comedies Chantal (VRT, Belgium), the female-led soft crime series from Eyeworks Film and Television that was in the top 3 most watched programmes in Belgium in 2022, and I Don’t Like Driving (TNT/Max, Spain) produced by Sayaka Producciones Audiovisuales, where a surly professor learning to drive for the first time aged 40 finds unexpected help in one of his students and a kooky driving instructor.

Drama formats launching include German original series Two Sides of the Abyss (RTL Plus/Max) from WBITVP Germany and RTL Deutschland, the atmospheric thriller which is the most streamed German original series in all Max EMEA markets, and 4 Blocks (TNT) produced by TNT Serie, Wiedemann & Berg Television, which tells a story of friendship and family, treason and guilt in an Arab clan living in central Berlin.

Alongside the new titles launching, returning WBITVP formats FBoy Island, Reality Queens of the Jungle and The Twelve are nominated across MIPCOM Awards ceremonies at TBI’s Content Innovation Awards and the C21 Format Awards.
