MIPCOM Cannes and The Ankler have joined forces to launch the Future of Entertainment Award, a new initiative recognizing the individuals and ideas shaping the next generation of the global entertainment business. The inaugural award will be presented to entrepreneur, filmmaker and Dhar Mann Studios founder Dhar Mann on October 11 at 5:30pm in the Grand Auditorium. The award will be presented by Janice Min, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of The Ankler. She said “The Ankler has always been obsessed with where the business is going next — and the place the industry turns to for insight on those shifts. Our partnership with MIPCOM CANNES lets us take that work a step further. The Future of Entertainment is our way of recognizing the people, starting with Dhar Mann, who are building enormous global entertainment businesses largely outside Hollywood’s traditional system.”

The partnership will also introduce the Future of Entertainment 25, an independently curated annual list recognizing 25 leaders shaping the future of the industry through creativity and innovation. The list will spotlight figures from across the global entertainment ecosystem and those driving change across the business.
