Calinos Entertainment has secured the international distribution rights to CNP Film’s new Turkish drama Sevdan Bir Ateş, which premiered on Show TV in Türkiye on September 9. The series will be presented to international buyers under the English title Love in the Ashes.
Starring Murat Ünalmış (Bitter Lands, Gülcemal) and Özge Özacar (One Love), the drama recorded a strong ratings increase in its second week while retaining the top position across all key audience categories. Episode two achieved a 7.42 rating in Total, 6.82 in AB and 7.88 in ABC1, representing gains of 3.88 points in Total, 4.58 in AB and 5.03 in ABC1 compared with the premiere.
Filmed against the distinctive backdrop of Cappadocia, Love in the Ashes is directed by Murat Saraçoğlu, whose credits include Valley of Hearts, Bitter Lands, Deception and Mrs. Fazilet and Her Daughters. The cast also features Gökçe Eyüboğlu, Sitare Akbaş and Taner Rumeli.
The story begins on Mirza and Leyla’s wedding day, when Leyla disappears just hours before the ceremony. Seven years later, Mirza is preparing to marry Destan when his seven-month-old nephew Kerem is kidnapped by his father, who is involved in human trafficking.Mirza travels to Aleppo to find Kerem and his brother-in-law, only to discover Leyla is alive. Determined to bring Leyla and six-year-old Hüma safely back to Cappadocia, Mirza returns home to face an even greater challenge: a battle within his own family.
