CJ ENM Expands Korean Content Push Across Central and Eastern Europe
CJ ENM is stepping up its international distribution strategy in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), building new partnerships with broadcasters and media groups as it looks to broaden the reach of Korean content across the region. The Korean entertainment company is taking a market-by-market approach, adapting its distribution strategy to local viewing habits, platform landscapes and audience preferences. The move follows the company’s recent expansion in India and forms part of its wider efforts to strengthen relationships with broadcasters, streaming services and other local partners.
Poland has emerged as one of the latest markets in focus. CJ ENM took part in the 2026 Poland-Korea Brand Week, organised by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), where it connected with local industry players and audiences. During the event, CJ ENM signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korean Cultural Center in Poland and KOCCA aimed at supporting the expansion of Korean content in Poland and the wider CEE region through increased collaboration. The event also combined industry activity with fan-facing initiatives, including interactive booths dedicated to Lovely Runner and The Legend of the Kitchen Soldier. A special screening of The Legend of the Kitchen Soldier was followed by a talk with Kim Tae-hoon, Chief Producer, offering audiences a closer look at the series and its production.

CJ ENM has also secured new content deals in the Czech Republic and Slovakia through partnerships with TV Nova and TV Markíza, respectively. Both broadcasters are owned by CME, one of Europe’s major media groups, with the agreements covering a total of 10 titles from CJ ENM’s scripted catalogue.
“CEE is a market where we see strong potential for further growth,” said Sebastian Kim, Head of Content Distribution Business Unit at CJ ENM. “We will continue to strengthen our partnerships with local broadcasters and platforms, while expanding our content offerings and creating more opportunities for audiences to discover and enjoy K-content.”

The company is continuing to expand its global distribution network through licensing and strategic partnerships with broadcasters and platforms worldwide. Its growing activity in CEE is expected to lead to further content licensing agreements and local partnerships across the European market.
