Inter Medya and Rise Studios are preparing the international launch of their new Turkish drama Caged Love (Tutsak Sevda), which will make its official global debut at MIPCOM 2026. The series marks one of the first major projects to emerge from the strategic production partnership announced by the two companies last December. At MIPCOM, Inter Medya will introduce the title to international buyers as part of its new season catalogue and will host a cocktail reception at its stand dedicated to its latest slate.
Production on Caged Love is currently underway, while the drama has already secured sales in several territories ahead of its market premiere. Further distribution negotiations are ongoing in a number of international markets. Starring Eslem Akar and Mert Altınışık, the series is directed by Canan Çelik and written by Zeynep Küçükerciyes. The cast also includes young actress Maya Kara.
Positioned as a high-end emotional drama, Caged Love combines family conflict, hidden identities and forbidden romance, drawing on the storytelling elements traditionally associated with internationally successful Turkish dramas. The story centres on Deniz Yılmazlar, an orphan who earns a living as a street musician while pursuing her passion for perfumery. Her life changes after she is falsely accused of a crime following a violent altercation.
While trying to protect a young girl named Maya and evade the police, Deniz assumes the identity of Sevda Kara and enters the home of the wealthy and traditional Demircihan family. There she becomes caught in a marriage of convenience with Baran Demircihan, a successful businessman, chemist and perfumer who is also the brother of Maya’s late father. What begins as a deception gradually develops into an intense relationship between Deniz and Baran, complicated by family secrets, unresolved pasts and powerful adversaries.
