The BBC is set to honor the 100th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s birth with a dedicated one-hour documentary titled "Queen Elizabeth II: Her Story, Our Century". This film examines the life and legacy of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, focusing on the woman behind the Crown as well as a century of profound transformation within Britain and across the globe.

Traversing an era that transitioned from the age of Empire to the emergence of celebrity culture—from the Blitz to the 2012 London Olympics—Queen Elizabeth II experienced immense change. More than just a witness to these events, she evolved into a lasting symbol of stability in an ever-shifting world. Through the lens of her existence, the documentary narrates the history of modern Britain in a deeply historical and emotionally evocative study of both the Queen and the public she served.

The production gathers a significant array of voices, featuring contributions from Dame Helen Mirren, Barack Obama, Sir David Attenborough, Dame Sheila Hancock, and HM Queen Camilla, among others. Personal accounts of encounters with the Queen are presented alongside reflections on the major social and cultural movements that defined her century, providing intimate perspectives on the monarch and the world she influenced.
