BossaNova Media has secured several licensing agreements across the United States and Europe for its key factual franchises. National Geographic in the US has acquired "Ancient Autopsy" (4x60’), a Yeti Television production for Channel 4 that utilizes digital technology to investigate the deaths of historical figures.
In Europe, the seventh season of "Borderforce USA", produced by Stampede Productions, has been licensed to UKTV, SevenOne Germany, RTL Netherlands, and Play Belgium. Furthermore, the second season of "Airport Security: USA" has been picked up by Talpa Netherlands and DPG Belgium.
Alongside these deals, BossaNova announced a strategic restructure of its sales department to maximize revenue across fragmenting platforms. Holly Cowdery, Head of Sales for North America, LATAM, and select European markets, will depart the company in March 2026. Following her exit, the distributor will create two new sales manager positions reporting to Tatiana Grinkevich, Head of Sales. CEO Paul Heaney will continue to oversee sales for the UK, US, and Australia, supported by a forthcoming sales assistant appointment.
Paul Heaney, CEO of BossaNova said: “Holly has been a vital member of the team, and her achievements have been central to our success.” Heaney added: “The decision now to switch to a more traditional sales structure is a natural evolution given BossaNova’s maturing over the past 5 years, the size of the catalogue we’re now seeking to maximise and the fragmenting of platforms and channels to sell to. With an increased headcount, we want to leave as little potential revenue ‘on the table’ as possible. This is the plan to achieve that.”
