Rai3 Launches Environmental Series La Pelle del Mondo
Italian public broadcaster Rai3 premieres La pelle del mondo (“The Skin of the World”) on Friday, March 6 in prime time. Produced by Rai Cultura and Be Water Film, the six-episode series explores life on Earth, the biosphere and the crucial role plants may play in the future of the planet.

The program is hosted by internationally renowned scientist and author Stefano Mancuso, who guides viewers through key environmental issues and the relationship between humanity and nature. He is joined by actor and comedian Lillo Petrolo, whose light and ironic approach helps make complex scientific topics engaging and accessible for a wide television audience.
Each episode focuses on a specific theme related to sustainability and environmental protection, combining scientific explanation with conversations featuring figures from the worlds of culture, science and entertainment.

Comic and storytelling segments are also included, with appearances by performers such as Corrado Guzzanti, Maccio Capatonda and Chiara Francini, alongside guests including Alessandro Barbero, Mario Calabresi, Vinicio Capossela, Serena Dandini, Christian De Sica, Alessandro Gassmann, Cecilia Sala, Giuliano Sangiorgi and Giovanni Storti, among others.
Blending ecology, botany and ethics, La pelle del mondo proposes a new perspective on the planet: rather than continuing to consume its resources, humanity must learn to protect the fragile “skin” of the Earth.

The series is written by Stefano Mancuso and Davide Savelli, produced by Mattia Guerra, with Lia Chiovari as executive producer for Be Water Film. The Rai project is overseen by Luisa Pistacchio and Arianna Ciulla, and directed by Graziano Conversano.
