Iberseries & Platino Industria 2025 Delivers a Strong Edition, Boosting Ibero-American Audiovisual on the Global Stage
The fifth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria confirmed its role as the leading event for the Ibero-American audiovisual industry, held from September 30 to October 3 at Matadero Madrid. Organized by EGEDA and Fundación Secuoya, with the support of FIPCA, Madrid authorities, and sponsors like Madrid Film Office, the event focused on internationalization, sustainability, and innovation across Spanish- and Portuguese-language content.

Global Cooperation & Green Practices: The event launched new alliances and eco-initiatives, including the Eco Management Guide by Banijay Iberia and Mrs. Greenfilm, and a new regional development program by Fundación Secuoya. Disney+, SkyShowtime, and Gaumont also revealed upcoming projects and global strategies.

Content & Market Trends: GECA presented the Euroficción study, analyzing trends in European and Latin American fiction, such as the rise of literary adaptations and AI-driven storytelling. Parrot Analytics shared data on the global impact of SPLATAM content.

Big Project Premieres: Attendees got previews of major titles like Cien años de soledad (Colombia), Raza Brava (Chile), Cometierra (Mexico), and Tremembé (Brazil), among others. Movistar Plus+, Atresmedia, and Sony Pictures showcased new international productions.

New Technologies & Investment: The event saw the launch of DRBZ Estudio Digital by the Derbez family and the opening of an advanced virtual set in Galicia. A new content investment fund, BE&JING1 Capital, also debuted.

Focus on Talent & Equality: Sessions explored AI's role in hiring practices, while panels led by the Universidad Nebrija and EGEDA spotlighted women’s leadership in Ibero-American fiction.

Country Spotlights: Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, and Chile led the Latin American
delegations. South Korea was featured as "Country in Focus" with support from KOCCA, joined by strong delegations from India, Turkey, and China.

Madrid's Audiovisual Push: Madrid Film Office and the newly renamed Film Madrid Region showcased the city and region as global production hubs, promoting new initiatives like AMEA for regional municipalities.

European Alliance: The event renewed its collaboration with Berlinale Series Market for 2026, strengthening cross-continental co-productions and sales.

With over four days of screenings, panels, networking, and showcases, Iberseries & Platino Industria 2025 confirmed the strength and global appeal of Ibero-American content in a fast-changing audiovisual landscape  with 2700 delegates from 50 countries.
