Banijay Entertainment has officially announced the launch of a brand-new reality competition format from Banijay Productions Germany Villa of Temptations. The highly anticipated show will debut in Germany on Monday, July 7 at 8:15 p.m. on SAT.1 and will also be available for streaming anytime on Joyn. Hosted by iconic German TV personality Verona Pooth, the format promises drama, intrigue, and unexpected twists as contestants face emotional and strategic challenges in a luxurious villa setting.
The bold international format sees 14 celebrities move into a seeming paradise for two weeks – but appearances are deceptive. No glamour, no beds, no showers. Instead of champagne and canapés, there are hard mats and meagre rations. If they want more, they have to pay – literally. Every temptation, every comfort will be deducted from the prize money of €250,000. Whoever gives in pays – and at everyone's expense. Will loyalty or self-interest win out? Whoever indulges loses – or maybe not?
Katrin Stefanović, Co-Managing Director, Banijay Productions Germany comments: “Reality shows continue to captivate audiences in Germany, and Villa of Temptations is the perfect paradise setting to challenge the morality and motivations of some of the country’s best-known celebrities. Leveraging our reality experience, we have created a stand-out, adaptable format with strong potential for international success.”
James Townley, Chief Content Officer, Development, Banijay Entertainment adds: “Banijay Productions Germany has a strong reputation for crafting unmissable reality, and Villa of Temptations has all the right beats for a compelling format. Demand from our clients for fresh and dynamic reality concepts is high, and we are already seeing significant interest from markets beyond Germany for this show.”
