RTL Germany Commissions Tresor to Produce German Adaptation of Keshet Format Domination
Tresor, the German unscripted production company owned by Keshet International (KI), has been commissioned by RTL Germany to produce a local version of Domination - a primetime gameshow that challenges a single player to outsmart an entire nation using both knowledge and strategy.

Based on Keshet Broadcasting’s original format produced for Israel’s most-watched channel Keshet 12, Tresor’s German adaptation for RTL is called Schlauer als Alle - Schlägst du Deutschland? and is hosted by Sonja Zietlow (I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!, The Traitors), one of Germany’s most popular TV presenters.

In RTL’s brand-new quiz show Schlauer als Alle – Schlägst du Deutschland?, it’s brains versus bravery as a single player goes head-to-head with the collective knowledge of Germany – represented by wildly different groups. In advance, hundreds of trivia questions have been answered by thousands of randomly selected Germans - from doctors and supermarket cashiers to bald guys and Tinder users - to map their knowledge. Each round, the contestant selects a group to compete against in a specified category. Who scores more correct answers – the contestant or the group average? With every round won, the time limit shrinks, the pressure builds, and the game gets tougher. Seven duels lead to the grand finale – where it all comes down to one decision: walk away with a guaranteed €20,000, or risk it all and play against the Elite team for €100,000? Picking the right opponents can be a winning strategy – or a costly mistake. Because when it comes to judging groups, our instincts often deceive us. Expect surprises – and stereotypes turned upside down.

Markus Küttner, Head of Entertainment RTL says, "Schlauer als Alle is a game against your own prejudices – and against the knowledge of an entire nation. What sounds easy quickly turns into a thrilling, nerve-wracking game. That's exactly what makes this quiz show so unique and exciting – and now it's coming to RTL. I'm absolutely delighted that we were able to bring Sonja Zietlow on board as host. With her unique style, she'll guide the contestants through this fast-paced and emotional game."

Axel Kühn, Tresor’s MD comments, “During the last three decades, we’ve built a reputation from adapting international entertainment formats for the German TV market. So, we are extremely happy that this quiz show is an adaptation of a format originally created by Keshet for Israel’s most-watched channel, Keshet 12. What I love about Domination as a format is that it has a very unique and innovative gameplay. Not only do the players have to overcome their prejudices to pick the right opponent, having categories of questions all with the same three possible answers is something really new and challenging for the contestants, and the viewers at home.”

Kelly Wright, KI’s MD of Distribution adds, “We are so excited to see Domination being adapted in a major territory like Germany right now, and by Axel and our trusted team at Tresor. This format captivated audiences across Israel when it premiered there and I’ve no doubt it’ll do even better on RTL. It is exactly the kind of bold national TV event that so many buyers are looking for right now - which is why we decided to relaunch it at the Paris Showcase this week.”

Tresor has been commissioned by RTL to produce 2x90’episodes of Schlauer als Alle - Schlägst du Deutschland?, both directed by Frank Lieberich (Wer isses?, Wok WM, Schlag den Star), with Tresor’s Tobias Cullmann and Axel Kühn as Executive Producers. The show will premiere on RTL from 19 May. Keshet International distributes Keshet Broadcasting’s original format Domination internationally.

Tresor produces high-quality content for the German-speaking market, specialising in adapting international entertainment formats such as The Real Housewives of Munich (RTL+), three seasons of I Can See Your Voice (RTL), and KI’s Masters of Dance (ProSieben). Part of Kl’s global network of production hubs, Tresor has also recently produced three seasons of Über Geld spricht man doch (People Talk About Money) - the German adaptation of LineUp Industries’ Where Does All the Money Go? - for Kabel 1 (S1 and S2) and Sat1 (S3), as well as Paramount’s The Line-Up as Wer isses? for ProSieben.
