Studio 100 International, a leading name in children's and family entertainment, is bringing a fresh look to its iconic classic series with a major remastering project. In response to growing demand, the company has undertaken the task of transforming these beloved titles into Full-HD and 16:9 widescreen format for the first time. This initiative ensures that iconic series such as Sindbad, Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Anne of Green Gables, Nils Holgersson, Marco, Vic the Viking, Maya the Bee, and Heidi will resonate not only with a new generation of young viewers but also evoke fond memories for adults who cherished them in their youth.
The remastering project is part of Studio 100 International’s larger licensing campaign, “Heroes of Childhood,” which unites these timeless properties under a single brand. This campaign celebrates the cross-generational appeal of these beloved shows, offering modern audiences a more visually engaging experience while preserving the essence of the original content.
The company plans to showcase this project, along with the first remastered episodes, at this year’s MIPCOM in Cannes at Booth R7.K17.
The remastering process uses cutting-edge AI technology to transform content originally produced in the 1970s into Full-HD quality. The original material is analyzed thoroughly to identify areas for optimization, after which AI-assisted upscaling is applied. This technique generates oversized frames, creating the necessary visual information for adaptation to the 16:9 widescreen format. Each scene is then manually refined to preserve the integrity of the original while achieving optimal visual presentation in native 1920x1080 resolution.
The audio is also carefully reconstructed to support multiple language versions, and localized titles and credits are produced to ensure global distribution of the remastered series.
By blending modern technology with nostalgia, Studio 100 International aims to breathe new life into these heritage properties, ensuring their legacy continues for generations to come.
