CJ ENM Announces Indian Adaptation of Acclaimed K-Drama Signal by Producers of KILL
CJ ENM has announced the Indian adaptation of its critically acclaimed Korean drama, Signal, titled Gyaarah Gyaarah. The series is produced by Sikhya Entertainment and Dharmatic Entertainment, two of India’s top production houses known for their compelling storytelling and high production values. The series, named after the Hindi term for 11:11, premiered on August 9, 2024, on Zee5.

The Hindi-language series is directed by the experienced Indian filmmaker Umesh Bist and stars Raghav Juyal, Kritika Kamra, and Dhairya Karwa. The storyline spans significant years in India's history—1990, 2001, and 2016—set against the mystical backdrop of the Himalayan ranges. The plot weaves together elements of mysticism and science, maintaining the essence of the original while infusing it with a distinctly Indian flavor.

The original Korean version, produced by Studio Dragon, is centered on the intriguing concept of communication across time to solve cold cases. The plot follows a modern-day criminal profiler who discovers an old walkie-talkie that connects him with a police officer from the late 1980s. Together, they work to solve unsolved mysteries and combat corruption, highlighting the enduring pursuit of justice even in a flawed world. First aired in 2016 on Korea’s leading K-content channel tvN, "Signal" garnered high viewership ratings and critical acclaim.
