ZDF and ProSiebenSat.1 are strengthening their collaboration with a new agreement that will bring ZDF’s on-demand content to Joyn, ProSiebenSat.1’s streaming platform, starting in the fourth quarter of 2026. The partnership will provide Joyn users with access to a wider selection of high-quality German content, including ZDF’s news, documentaries, cultural, factual and entertainment programming. The content will be available on demand through Joyn free of charge and without advertising.
The agreement aims to create new opportunities for audiences to discover public broadcasting content within a broader digital ecosystem, while supporting a diverse and sustainable media landscape in Germany.

“Our mission is to reach as many people as possible with our high-quality content,” explains Dr. Florian Kumb, Director Audience at ZDF. “By making ZDF streaming content available on Joyn in the future, we’re strengthening the visibility of public broadcasting journalism in the digital space.”
ZDF’s own streaming platform will remain the central digital destination for its public service content, while the integration into Joyn will offer users an additional access point to its programming.

The partnership comes as public and private media players seek new ways to compete in an increasingly international streaming market. By combining ZDF’s editorial offering with Joyn’s established user base, both companies aim to increase the reach of German-made journalistic and cultural content.
