Sky Studios and Cattleya - part of ITV Studios - are working on the prequels of two of their most iconic and representative series, in Italy and internationally: Romanzo Criminale and Gomorrah, "two sagas, two real brands that wrote some of the pages most exciting and successful of Italian serials" - said Nils Hartmann, EVP Sky Studios Italy during the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the group.

The origin story of Romanzo Criminale – The series will focus on the years preceding the rise of the Banda della Magliana: a story of Roman crime that takes place before the events told in the two seasons of the series but which is linked to its characters.
On board of the project was also announced Giancarlo De Cataldo, "father" of the historical series, author of the novel of the same name (published by Einaudi).

Gomorrah, also returns, sold in over 190 territories around the world. Ranked fifth in the New York Times ranking of the most important non-American TV series of the 2010-2020 decade, the Sky Original series inspired by Roberto Saviano's bestseller will continue its journey on a global scale with a prequel that will tell the story of the criminal rise of boss Pietro Savastano, when he was a kid that become the most important and ruthless boss in Naples. Once again, Leonardo Fasoli and Maddalena Ravagli wrote the project.
