Power Play won as best series and best music at the 6th edition of Canneseries
The 6th season of Canneseries ended on Wednesday April 19 with the awards ceremony in the grand auditorium of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. The jury for long series, chaired by Lior Raz. Power Play won the award as the best series of 2023 edition. This Norwegian production tells the story of a young doctor who
fights for the right to abortion and almost by chance finds herself involved in politics.

The winners of this 2023 edition are as follows:

• prize for the best series (long): Power Play / Makta (12 x 55'), created by Johan Fasting (Motlys and Novemberfilm for NRK and NDR, Norway)

• prize for the best short series: The Left-Handed Son / El Hijo Zurdo (6 x 22'), created by Rafael Cobos (Movistar Plus+, Atipica Films for Movistar Plus+, Spain)

• screenplay prize: Bargain (6 x 35'), created by Seung-min Byun (SLL, Climax Studio for TVING and Paramount+, South Korea)

• music award: Power Play / Makta

• prize for interpretation: the performers of Corduroy (8 x 40'), created by Hadas Ben Aroya (Movieplus Productions, Banijay for Hot, Israel)

• special interpretation prize: the performers of Carthago (11 x 60'), created by Reshef Levi, Tomer Shani and Yannets Levi (24 Drafts Studios for Kan 11, Israel)

• prize for high school students for best long series: Carthago (11x 60'), created by Reshef Levi, Tomer Shani and Yannets Levi (24 Drafts Studios for Kan 11, Israel)

• student award for best short series: L'Air d'aller / Thin Air (10x 23'), created by Jean-Christophe Réhel (Urbania for Télé-Québec, Canada)

• prize for the best documentary series: Draw for Change! (6 x52'), created by Vincent Coen and Guillaume Vandenberghe (Clind'œil films, A Bahn, Point du Jour/ Les Films du Balibari and Ma.ja.de.Filmproduktions for Arte, VRT, RTBF, SWR and WDR, Belgium France)

• Europe 1 Audience Award: Les Combattantes (8 x 52'), createdby Camille Treiner and Cécile Lorne (Quad Drama, TF1, Netflix)

It should be remembered that, in addition, three honorary prizes were awarded, respectively to actress and producer Sarah Michelle Gellar (Icon Award trophy), to showrunner and screenwriter Joey Soloway (commitment prize), as well as to the actress Morfydd Clark (Rising Star Award).
