The first series was broadcast by Canale 5 in 2006 (with the exception of the seventh edition, which aired exclusively on TV8 from 25 November to 23 December 2018 with the title La notte dei record). The first two editions were hosted by Barbara D'Urso, the third edition by Paola Perego and Christian Recalcati, the fourth, sixth, eighth and ninth by Gerry Scotti, the fifth by Teo Mammucari, and the seventh by Enrico Papi.
The show is based on the famous book of Guinnes World and in each episode contestants will try to set or to break a new record.
The 8-part series is produced by Banijay Italia, in the past was produced by EuroProduzioni.
