The series conceived by Carlo Lucarelli and Giampiero Rigosi, returned to Rai2 after the success of the first (2017) and second series (2019), four new prime time evenings. Synopsis:
Three years have passed since Vanessa (Valentina Romani) walked away with Federico (Carmine Recano) without looking back, leaving Cagliostro (Lino Guanciale) trapped between life and death. Cagliostro has broken all relations with her, and when Eleonora (Cecilia Dazzi) asks for his help to free her from the influences of that mysterious place, he refuses. Anna (Gabriella Pession) is about to leave town, as she is heading to Siena for a new job, where she finally hopes for a new beginning for her and her daughter. Commissioner Paoletto (Gaetano Bruno) is facing, at the same time, the problems of the city and an emotional mystery: although their relationship seemed to be going well, Stella (Elena Radonicich) asked him for a break and disappeared. One night, during a protest march against a high-impact power plant-which also involves Filip (Pierpaolo Spollon)-the city of Trieste plunges into darkness. Among the inconveniences of the great blackout is a bad traffic accident: a vehicle goes off the road, smashing into an embankment. The person who was driving dies. It is a death that is destined to change the fortunes of all the characters and lead them-for the last time-to investigate together with dramatic and unpredictable developments. Anna and Paoletto on one side; Vanessa and Cagliostro on the other, but with a big twist: in this case, both may be guilty. They will be suspicious of each other as they try to figure out what is the invisible but very strong thread that has always bound them together. Will they be able to find out? And will Cagliostro ultimately succeed in crossing the Red Door?
