Iberseries & Platino Industria has unveiled new programme highlights ahead of its 2026 edition, taking place 29 September–2 October at Matadero Madrid. The event will bring together creators, producers, platforms, broadcasters, financiers, buyers, distributors and institutional representatives from Europe and Latin America.
Over four days, the programme will combine conferences, keynotes, spotlights, exclusive previews, financing sessions, professional meetings, pitches and workshops, with a strong focus on international co-production, new narratives and business opportunities. Key themes will include the development of global IP, platform and broadcaster strategies, financing models, artificial intelligence and new consumption formats.
Among the newly announced sessions is “K-DRAMA Spotlight: From Korea to the World: Hong Jong-chan and the Global Success of Korean Content”, dedicated to the international rise of Korean drama and the way culturally distinctive stories can reach global audiences. The session will include representatives from Cloud Films", Korean Association for Broadcasting & Telecommunication and KOCCA Spain.
The relationship between local storytelling and international audiences will also be explored in “Creators Without Borders: Stories with a Global Passport”, featuring Amaya Muruzabal, Isabel Peña and Eduard Sola, who will discuss how creators can develop stories capable of travelling beyond their original markets.
Artificial intelligence will be one of the central themes of the event. A dedicated workshop organised with the Madrid Audiovisual Cluster will showcase practical applications of AI and emerging technologies in production and business models, while another session will examine the regulatory, ethical and intellectual-property implications of AI.
The subject will also be addressed in “AI in Action: New Production Models”, featuring Erik Barmack, Founder & CEO of Wild Sheep Content, and Johann Choron, Partnerships & Gen AI Lead for Film & TV at Google EMEA, who will discuss the impact of generative AI on creative processes, workflows and production strategies.
Financing and international co-production will form another major strand of the programme. “Breaking Rules: The Co-Production Landscape” will bring together executives from Secuoya Studios, Quad Drama, Beta Film, RTVE, Atlantique Productions and Submarine to discuss the current international co-production environment.
The programme will also feature a dedicated Mediawan spotlight focused on creative independence, European identity and global expansion, with Elisabeth d’Arvieu and Matthieu Thollin, moderated by Gersh partner Roy Ashton.
Meanwhile, IMAGINA will gather executives from some of Spain’s leading production companies, including Globomedia, El Terrat, 100 Balas, Big Bang Media and Cimarrón Cine, to discuss production strategies, recent projects and the challenges facing the audiovisual industry. Creative talents Diego San José and Andrés Gelós will also participate.
Amazon MGM Studios will turn the spotlight on emerging Ibero-American talent in “New Voices, Great Stories”, while producers from Secuoya Studios, Infinity Hill and Alebrije Cine y Video will discuss financing challenges, public funding and the strategies of independent producers.
Filmin will also present its original production strategy, focusing on auteur-driven projects, creative freedom and risk-taking, using Millennial Mal and Segunda Temporada as case studies.
The programme will conclude with “Netflix and FIPCA: Training to Transform”, dedicated to training and the new professional demands of the Ibero-American audiovisual industry, including the presentation of FORMA, an initiative promoted by FIPCA with the support of Netflix.
